True - more of the idea of the main handler being a traffic cop, which I've used to a good advantage.

You could use the C runtime _RFILE APIs if you wanted a generic 5250
handler.

Or you could write a purpose-built ILE RPG sub-handler for each possible
DSPF, and just use an RPG F spec to define the file, having the handler
actually do the required opcode with the provided data structure(s).
