If the program is compiled with CLOSQLCSR(*ENDACTGRP) doesn't the file
remain with a lock until the Activation Group Ends. Or is that only true for
programs that end with LR setoff where the Activation group remains active.

Subject: Re: CGIDEV2 Object Lock Issue

Hello Kelley,

It is not CGIDEV2 that is causing you trouble, but SQL. SQL will keep a
lock on a file if it thinks it might come in handy for the next request.
Because of this command ALCOBJ has an extra parameter CONFLICT that you
can use to ask SQL to let go of these locks. In the evening job use
'ALCOBJ OBJ((<lib>/<file> *FILE <lock>)) CONFLICT(*RQSRLS)' and you should
be fine.

Hi all,

I have a fairly simple CGIDEV2 program that reads through a file using
embedded SQL and displays information on the screen. The SQL cursor is
opened and closed in the same routine. The web page is displayed after
the SQL routine is completed.

A job that runs in the evening was not completing because the HTTP
server has a lock on the file. The only way to get rid of the lock is to

shut down the HTTP server. Is this normal? I'm new to CGIDEV2, am I
missing a setting or command somewhere that prevents this?

Thanks,

Kelley
