One solution would be to create a temp file.

Read the directory while populating the temp file with the filenames.

Then read the temp file, using embedded sql, in whatever sort order you want.

You could use qshell to list the directory and direct the output to a file.

I have done some research on this and I did not see any way you can set the order with a READDIR.
I also saw suggestions to read the directory and manipulate the order manually in the RPG program.
