John,

Seems quite obvious to me:

The initial user profile for the submitted job is determined by the USER
parameter, which defaults to *CURRENT. The SBMFOR parameter does not
influence that.

Once the job is started, the current profile is the same as the initial
profile, until a program is called that swaps the profile.

Question:
There is a parameter on the SBMJOB so that a system operator can re-run
a job for a user, and it then appears on the user's WRKSBMJOB panel.
How does a job submitted in this manner render User and CurrentUser?
Has anyone tested this scenario, or know the particulars of this parm
when retrieving these?

SBMJOB CMD(CALL PGM(X) +
SBMFOR(123456/USER_Y/RE_RUN_JOB)

Help Text for Submitted for (SBMFOR) - Help

Specifies the job name to be used on the Jobs submitted
from (SBMFROM) parameter of the Work with Submitted Jobs
(WRKSBMJOB) command.
