Imagine several environments, ie library lists, each one containing identical client files.

ie in environment 1 I might have Lib1/File1, Lib2/File2 etc
in environment 2 I might have Lib2/File1, Lib3/File2 etc

A client contract entry program is called from a menu. User selects environment first. So the library list is set to environment 1.
A particular product requires that the user enters the contract, goes back to the menu and selects environment 2, comes back to entry program to create another contract for the same client. Very tiring.

I've been asked to switch to environment 2 after entering the contract in environment 1, by using an activation group. This will be a new program 100% ILE, but the initial contract entry program is a mixture of rpgIII and IV. So the application will be going from entering product1 in the DAG, then product2 for the same client in an ACTGRP, returning to the product1 program.

Could the program in the ACTGRP show a window on top of the screen in the DAG? What kind of issues might I run into going in and out of the DAG in this manner?

Thanks for any advice.
