Hi Terry,

Since you are planning to use the GPL v2 license, your code cannot (legally) be mixed with mine in the same package. They have to always be distributed separately (unless one of us decides to change licenses -- and let me tell you, I have no interest in changing to the GPL.)

Don't I already have a CL front-end for FTPAPI? Hmmm... it's been so long since I've done anything with FTPAPI, I can't remember.

Scott,

Since I mentioned it in this thread yesterday evening, I have received
some interest in the command wrapper that I have created around some
of the functions of your FTPAPI.

Would you, I wonder, care to host this tool at scottklement.com, with
a view to eventually integrating it into FTPAPI? In some ways, it
seems like a natural fit, especially as it does nothing useful except
via your service program. On the other hand ...

(*) From the time I mentioned the wrapper on your FTPAPI mailing list
last November until yesterday, I had received precisely one
expression of interest, and I have no reason to think that the
person actually used the wrapper. Without user interest, the
wrapper cannot progress beyond its present immature (to put it
mildly) state. Unless the wrapper matures, I cannot imagine that
you would want it.

(*) Funny that just this morning over on your FTPAPI mailing list I
read your opinion about the distinction between an API intended
for use from a program compared to a tool for use by a user. The
wrapper still is usable only from a program, but I was and am
tempted to make it usable directly from the command line. You
might not want to go there.

What do you think? Do we have anything to talk about?

Cheers,
Terry.
