Hi Gary,

CH4FIXED doesn't use CCSIDs. It reads/writes the file in binary mode. This file isn't intended to be a text file -- if you're looking for info on text files, they're in a different chapter of the IFS tutorial.

Whether it's in the /tmp folder or not shouldn't make any difference. (As long as you change it in all places in the program.)
