The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
The way I tried to do that was to load everything in a QTEMP file in an RPG
program and
just read that file in PHP script. I even loaded html into my QTEMP file in
RPG and when it displayed the table
it gave me hyperlinks to other PHP apps. But I got my nose slapped with a
newspaper for that.
Because everyone thought I would lose my contact with QTEMP because of the
nature of the web and the way
it is handled via the 400.
An old co-worker told me to load the data in a stored procedure on the
AS/400, then call
the stored procedure from PHP. That is what they do.
Sounds good, but turned over every (free) rock I could and hit the wall
trying to get this to work.
If there is a company or a web training service for this (PHP for the
AS/400), I would invest in it.
My last employer has dumped all non-5250 development tools for PHP and has
great success.
I think you can have
success with PHP too, but you need some help to get the plane off the
runway. Mine slid into an icy river.
I can give you my old employers contact information if you are interested.
Email me directly.
