I'm trying to determine what I'm doing wrong with the C rename function. I am trying to rename a file on the IFS. The rename function returns -1 which I understand to mean an error. I then use __errno and strerror to return the error text. What I get is a error number of 0 and a text of no error exits. There are no messages in the job log. I'm at a loss where to look next.

Here's the pertinent code:

// C function to retrieve error number

d GetErrNo pr * ExtProc('__errno')

// C function to retrieve error text

d GetErrNoTxt pr * ExtProc('strerror')

d ErrNo 10i 0 Value

// Fields for renaming the XML file with C function rename

d OldFile s 128a

d NewFile s 128a

d RenameErrNbr s 10i 0 Based(RenameErrNbr@)

d RenameErrTxt s 128a Based(RenameErrTxt@)

// Rename the XML so it won't get picked up again

OldFile = %TrimR(InPath) + %TrimR(FileName) + x'00';

NewFile = %TrimR(InPath) + %TrimR(NewName) + x'00';

RtnCode = Rename(%Addr(Oldfile) :%Addr(NewName));

If RtnCode < 0;

RenameErrNbr@ = GetErrNo();

RenameErrTxt@ = GetErrNoTxt(RenameErrNbr);

EndIf;
