If you do not need any input you can output the progress bar format with the
keyboard locked. I think the record-level keyword is LOCK but it's been a
long time...

That's all I had. There are many ways to clear the Winblows keyboard
buffer. Google search will give you C, VB, other programs for that. Maybe
do both sides?

Thanks for the tip, Dennis. We use Client (iSeries, System i, ...)
Access,
and unfortunately, QWSSETWS won't work in this scenario:

"Keyboard buffering for personal computer systems attached by IBM i
Access
or workstation emulation (WSE) is controlled through the emulation
programs; these devices do not support the type-ahead data stream."
