Jeff,

%SubArr(Lines : 1: %Elem(Lines)) is exactly the same as Lines: take the
part of Lines that starts with element 1 and ends with element
%Elem(Lines); i.e. the whole array.

So you are assigning the value of XsScrn to Lines; because Lines is an
array, all elements will get the value of XsScrn; because XsScrn does not
fit in an array element, all elements will be filled with the first 80
characters of XsScrn.

Simplest would be to define XsScrn as a data structure (or in a DS) and
overlay it with Lines.

I have an array of 24 elements that I need to load from a field.
In fixed form, I would use the MOVEA to do this.
In Free Form, I am attempting to use the %SUBARR BIF.
However, what I end up with is all elements of my array set to
the same value, which is the first element of the array.
The statement is coded as follows:
%SubArr(Lines : 1 : %Elem(Lines)) = XsScrn;
Lines is defined as 24 entries
XsScrn is a field from a file that is 1920.

What am I missing?

Thanks,
