If you are using smtp.gmail.com, you will need to specify a port number, 587 I believe.

Subject: SMTP Configuration

We are currently in the process of taking our email server offline permanently and using Google to host our company email. I have several RPG applications that use SMTP to send email messages and/or attachments via SMTP. SMTP is currently configured to point to the IP address of our email server. Once we take that offline, of course, it won't be available to route our emails from RPG programs through.

Does anyone know how SMTP should/could be configured without having an internal email server to route it through?
