I have a program that checks images on a NT server via QNTC to see if the
size is zero.
This is a further test after checking for the existence of the image.
What I do is a DSPLNK, output to a special outque, then do a CPYSPLF, read
at the file and look at the size attribute.
The problem is that the job bombs, creating too many spool file entries.
I think that an OVRPRTF with MAXRCDS(*NOMAX) may keep this from happening.
But I always hesitate in setting anything to *NOMAX, but if I have to, I
will.
I did some research and found the API QHFSETSZ, but it seems it will only
work on the QOPT and QDLS file systems.
Does anyone know a way to get the "Size of object data in bytes . . . . .
:", or the equivalent without doing the DSPLNK?
I have not explored doing something on the NT server at all, everything runs
on the as/400.
