Logic circuits don't work that way. By saying <> you are completing the
less than and the greater than test then making a decision based on
both
results therefore making three tests.

I don't believe there's any circuit board wiring going on on this list, but
your point is taken. Let me revise my statement (expressed to an RPG
community on an RPG list) --> NOT = and <> are equivalents IN RPG from the
perspective that they both are negatives.
