Hi Steven,

Take a look at the DFRWRT parm on the CRTDSPF command:

p Defer write (DFRWRT) - Help

Specifies that the writing of data is delayed until it is written
out with other data when a read request is made. Control is
returned to the program immediately after the data is received.

Hi All,

I think what I would like to do is probably not possible but I thought I
would ask just in case. I have a display that has two DDS windows on
it...for example records WINDOW1 and WINDOW2. One of these windows will
be waiting for user input once the entire screen is displayed so the
following RPG is used...

WRITE WINDOW1

EXFMT WINDOW2

When this code runs the WINDOW1 record displays first and then slightly
later the WINDOW2 record appears as well. It is only for a fraction of a
second but it means that for a brief moment only half of the screen is
displayed. Is there a way to write the WINDOW1 record so that it
buffers? and displays at the same time as the WINDOW2 record? ie Both
records appear on the screen at the same instant. It doesn't affect
processing at all but I just think the program would look a little more
professional if the display appears all at once...

Cheers,

Steve
