Yes you can, but what I've done in the past is to use CPYFRMIMPFinto
a database file that would just have 1 field long enough to fix themax
length in the file. Then use that DB2 file to read in the RPG.
That does work, and if we applied enough brain power, we could probably
find even more convoluted ways to do this. :) (Sorry, Michael.)
It's not worth all that hassle, since it's so easy to work with stream
files in RPG. Start here:
