note that Scott's ifs eBook is probably not a good resource.

The prototypes are out of date, IBM added some extra parameters at
v5r3 or so I think.

Yes you can,  but what I've done in the past is to use CPYFRMIMPF
into
a database file that would just have 1 field long enough to fix the
max
length in the file.  Then use that DB2 file to read in the RPG.

That does work, and if we applied enough brain power, we could probably
find even more convoluted ways to do this.  :)  (Sorry, Michael.)

files in RPG.  Start here:
