The correct syntax is:

SET OPTION COMPILEOPT = 'DBGVIEW(*SOURCE)'

I had a problem with your advise. I added to my program compile option:

C/Exec SQL Set Option CompileOpt('DBGVIEW(*SOURCE)')
C/End-Exec

but I received compilation error:
SQL0104 30 2162 Position 38 Token ( was not valid. Valid tokens: =

it isn't problem for me but I have to remember to set
CompileOpt('DBGVIEW(*SOURCE)') each time.
