The RPG Reference has your answer - V5R1 InfoCenter is at http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r1/ic2924/info/rzahgicmain.htm - I think that it has to be numeric, not alpha, at V5R1 - numeric came later, maybe V5R2.

BTW, I keep links to the Online Library and InfoCenter all the way back to V3R2 - some of the early manuals are better, IMO.
