As far as I know, the IBM i is the only platform to support an ILE RPG
compiler. There are variants of RPG available for Windows, like ASNA's
Visual RPG, or IBM's VARPG, but these products are not really compatible
with IBM RPGLE source. I think ASNA has a conversion tool that could
migrate your RPGLE source into its syntax, but for sure they do not
offer the reverse...
WDSC or Rdi do support offline source verification, but no compile or
execution support. To do RPGLE development, you must have a host. If
you cannot (or should not) use your employer's systems, consider finding
a development timeshare service, where you lease access to a development
server for a low monthly charge. I'm not sure how many of these still
exist, so availability may be limited.
