Is it possible to use class/methods from iText to build and create a PDF and then put the PDF on the IFS? Is anybody using iText Classes in there RPG applications now? I am hoping that by using the iText I can build a very professional looking PDF that would include graphics and different fonts and colors.

Anybody have any suggestions on how I could start on even trying to do this?

I see a book by Bruno Lowagie called iText In Action. I also see via this link http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/opensource/library/os-javapdf/?ca=dgr-lnxw11JavaPDF that IBM has called Generate PDF files from Java applications dynamically. But I'm not seeing any examples of properly prototyping the iText methods in RPG and building the PDF.

After reading about iText I was wondering if I can extract the data I want in an RPG module and then using the Classes in the iText library build and create the PDF. Then store the PDF on the IFS with the intention of emailing it.

Or is this one of those scenarios where its better for me to do the whole thing in JAVA for what I'm trying to accomplish?
