If you want anything more than the rudimentary DSPLY, then you will have
to look at "Application Display Programming". DSPLY is normally not used
outside of testing and debugging.

For character based terminals traditionally display files created by using
DDS (or Data Description Specifications) are used. See the above link.
Also you may wish to purchase a book about RPGLE programming from
http://store.midrange.com/
Some may recommend some author or another because that's what they learned
from a decade or so ago.
Others may recommend something newer that uses free format and newer
stuff.
You will have to bone up on the EXFMT operation code.
