Dave: I gave that a shot and unfortunately that's not it. However after
some messing around with it, I was able to get regcomp() to take the
following pattern which accomplishes the same thing, however I am not
getting the matched words returned in the match data structure.
\#\s{0,5}([0-9a-z]+)
The returned 4th parameter is supposed to be offsets of the found matches,
however despite regexec() returning 0 (matches found), the values in the ds
are still not even initialized (hex 040404040404 in all of the sub fields
of the MODS for every occurrence). I really hope someone has had some
experience using this to get the matched word offsets because I am at a
loss as to what I'm doing wrong.
