Again, catching up on RPG email...

I would suggest building DDL from scratch. And buying a book on how to do
this and reading it carefully. Or at the least studying every possible
parameter in the CREATE TABLE, CREATE INDEX and CREATE VIEW statements
from the IBM manuals.

Not one of the samples posted here included any constraints: referential,
check or otherwise. All stuff that was impossible with DDS. And can only
be tacked on after the fact with ADDPFCST.

Much as if you limit your DML (Data Manipulation Language) of SQL to only
that which you learned by doing RTVQMQRY, limiting your DDL (Data
Definition Language) to only that which you learned by using some tool to
retrieve definitions from some DDS defined file severely limits your
knowledge.

Would you limit your RPG knowledge to only that gleaned from dissecting a
CASE tool generated program?
