The ExtFld would be *IN33. When the DS is qualified and you don't rename the *IN33, then the compiler uses IN33 as the name, but you have to say *IN33 on the rename.

But I would use the INDARA/INDDS solution too. I like it better than renaming the subfields.

Although ... I've never really liked the way RPG associates fields with files through F spec keywords like INDDS. I think it would be better if they could be coded explicitly on the I/O operation, or be implicitly handled by the compiler like %EOF etc. But since RPG _does_ handle associated information that way, INDDS seems like the best fit for the indicator problem.
