I can't resist.
I am one of those weird guys that likes to externalize my I/O. When I
write my procedures to retrieve records, I always give them a indicator as
a return value. Then I can return %EOF or %FOUND in the return value.
This gets the clutter out of my loops. For example:
/Free
Dow getNextInvoice(Customer) ;
// Do stuff here
EndDo ;
/End-Free
This way, there are no leaves or iters, no priming reads, and if there is
no record, the loop never executes.
That's my $2, cause let's face it, you can't get anything for 2 cents
anymore.
