I was told it existed in school but was lead to believe it no longer
existed. I am now looking at some old RPG36 and OCL36 code and need to
"modernize it". Is there a tool to help convert it to RPG or RPGLE code
similar to CVTRPGSRC?

Mike:

Like most others here, I'd probably rewrite as much as possible. However, I'd almost certainly start by doing straight conversions of everything into an intermediate library. I'd be glad to have numerous sections of code that could simply be copy/pasted.

I'd also like to have the original code plus the resulting converted code to use as a guide. Conversion by tool may make a mess of some things, but it can help catch things that might just subconsciously slip past you. These might be commented-out lines that you don't notice or almost anything.

It shouldn't add much effort to prepare and it can save effort later. In a few cases, it _might_ even do all the work for you. Use the system to do work -- it's what your expertise is intended to do, eh?
