I am a neophyte when it comes to SQL, but I think it's because you said LEFT
JOIN which means a left outer join. So you get a 'record' for every record
in the first file. Changing it to just JOIN isn't what you want. You must
use the COALESCE function on each field from the 2nd file to establish a
default value when no record is found in the 2nd file.

If this turns out to be the correct answer, it will be 1) the first time I
have correctly answered an SQL problem, and 2) this week's sign of the
apocalypse. If it's wrong, I'll go back into my hole.
