Aha! Now I think I see the misunderstanding. Because the outline view doesn't alphabetize procedures, it is more difficult to find them _within_the_outline_view_ if there are many procedures. I agree that it seems strange that subroutines and prototypes are alphabetized, but procedures appear in the source order.

In that case, I have two suggestions. If I want to use the Ctrl-F find function to go directly to a procedure definition, I search for 'P procedureName(' instead of 'procedureName'. Should get you there in one go.

Using the outline view, you can click the 'Subprocedures' section, then just type the first view letters of the procedure name to position to that procedure. This would also work a bit better if the list was alphabetized, but if you know the exact procedure name you want it should still work reasonably well. However, if many of your procedures have a common prefix (such as MODULENAME_ for a module that is part of a SRVPGM), you need to be a pretty accurate typist. :)
