MSGID in SFL records - why not?

We are working on a project to externalize all text constants in display files and replacing this with message file data.



We would very much like to have one copy of the display file object and that all users would get the lead texts dynamically based on whatever language they use.



We have created a toolkit to create message file data from text constants and also to update the DDS source and insert a MSGID field to replace the text constant.



This works really well - except in one case:



If a subfile record has text constants these for some reason can not be replaced with the MSGID keyword. MSGCON is allowed but not MSGID. Since we want the language handling to be completely dynamic MSGCON is not an option.



Any Ideas on how to solve this? Any work arounds?
