Thanks Birgitta - the code number of 1218 is what I was looking for

Hi,

With Monitor the error message in the program status data structure only
says a record lock occured but not who is locking the record.
With %Error the error message in the program status data structure says
who
currently locks the record.
To handle record locks and separate them from other errors additionally
check the %Status (Record lock = %Status 1218)

/Free
Chain(E) Key MyFileF;
If %Error;
Select;
When %Status = 1218;
//Handle Record locks;
Other
//Other Errors
EndSL;
EndIf;

BTW 1218 can also be checked with monitor;
Monitor;
Chain Key MyFileF;
On-Error 1218; // Record-Lock
//Handle Record-Locks
On-Error;
//Handle other errors;
EndMon;

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards

I thought of that but what if the error is NOT a lock.

Subject: Displaying who has a record lock

Afternoon everyone
I now there is a way to obtain who already has a lock on a record of a
file
by using indicators and position 91 through 170 of the program status
data
structure (PSDS), but does anyone know what the code is for the monitor
end-monitor.

As always - any and all answers are much appreciated
