Where are you trying to use the stored procedure? You do know that they don't work with embedded SQL in RPG. And they don't work from interactive SQL.

To return a result set from an RPG program, just open the cursor and take

Thanks to Buck, Birgitta and Brian for your suggestions. Unfortunately,
none of them fixed my problem. I had already tried just leaving the cursor
open and not using the set result set. I had also checked the sqlstate
after each statement and it was always normal, however I did modify my
program to use Buck's structure. The program completed normally however I
still received the message about 0 result sets and the cursor not being
eligible to be accessed as a stored procedure result set. I also changed my
proc to MODIFIES SQL DATA but that didn't have any effect.
