So many options...

Eval Available = Allowance + Credit
Eval Available = Allowance - %Abs(Credit)
Eval Available = Allowance - (Credit * -1)

Personally I would store the value as positive and subtract it directly. If
the value was then negative for any reason it would imply the reverse.

I have a field which is a credit amount so it has the negative sign. I have
to subtract this from the Allowance account amount, to show the user how
much is left in the account. I am getting that it adds it bec. negative
minus negative. What sort of techniques are best to use? I can simply
declare it to be pos. in the first place i suppose.
