I also forwarded the earlier post on to midrange-l in case this veered
over to there.

I, too, wondered if the internal format had something to do with it. Even
though the RCDLEN of a single date field only file is 10, many of us know
that a date field really doesn't take up 10 characters. So I tried
various lengths of flat files and CPYF into the DDS date field file. All
that did was add a buffer length error (CPF4011) before the data mapping
error (CPF5035).
