Thanks to all who responded and yes, Midrange-L would have been the
appropriate forum.
Turns out that the objects were allocated to save/restore operations
related to backup and mirroring.
While an IPL resolved the problem, the daily launch if these operations
caused the problem to recur.
Cancelling these operations again resolved the problem.
Strangley, this usage is not exposed by the system IFS usage function.
