What OS release? Are the PTFs up to date?

I've found that SQL has historically been an after thought on new
releases requiring PTFs to function properly.

Subject: extfile: et al

I recently moved to a new shop (December) and am becoming somewhat
frustrated as things I have used in the past DO NOT function on this
system. Examples include:
/ Exec SQL directive. I get "Compiler directive not recognized;
directive
ignored." in PDM.
The EXTFILE & EXTMBR keywords; both of these are flagged at compile with

RNF7030 & RNF7503 on keyword name.
Nobody here seems to have a clue.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Thanks in advance;
