The return value (if any) is always a part of every procedure's
signature
But, unfortunately, methods overloads cannot vary by signature alone, at
least not in the .net languages, and I believe Java. That is, I can have
int function1(int a, int b)
and
int function1(int a, float b)
but I cannot have
int function1(int a, int b)
and
float function1(int a, int b)
