Short answer, Ashish - YES!

There are APIs for doing this on iSeries. Go to InfoCenter - www.iseries.ibm.com/infocenter, pick your OS version - makes no difference for this - then look for the Programming section on the left menu. Open that up and look for the APIs section - in there is an API finder - click on that and type LDAP in the lower entry field and click on the button next to it - then read all there is.

By the way, make a bookmark of the API Finder - there's a trick to doing it, but it is worth it.
