I basically did the same thing with both HP and Troy printers years ago, using whatever language was embedded in the printer at the time, HP or TROY's to create dynamic forms and reports with embedded graphics. Just send escape sequences into the print output stream as required by the printer. It is very easy to do. I don't think I did anything special to the actual output file or queue. As long as the report file is printed to the target printer then the escape sequences will be interpreted correctly. The manual should have all the sequences. We had custom checks printed to the TROY using the same approach, which included logo plus MICR encoding. It is not one or the other, you can have escape sequences within normal text output. At some point all the output is converted to the target device stream using the same escape sequences.
