How about using TAA Tool's DSPOBJLCK. It will return an error code if the
the object is not locked (not active).

Have you looked at the work management API's on the InfoCenter? It's
been 10+ years since I've done what you are asking but I'm pretty sure
it's in one of the work management API's. Sorry, I don't remember the
name. There is one to return job specific information. That's where I
would start.

I am trying to use the user space API's to check if a particular program
is running and what its status is as on WRKACTJOB screen. All instances
of using API's of the web have all returned JOBNAME and USERNAME not the
program name can any one help please
