Thanks for the reply Alan.
I agree it looked like the AID field was defined locally.
And here is what tripped me up....
We are a JDE shop so we use many of their /COPY routines. One of their
routines was copied into this subprocedure and the copybook has the AID
field defined on a C spec.
You know how Charlie Brown screams in the cartoon? That's how I feel
right now.

Thanks again....Happy Holidays everyone...

Steve,

Since the difference is between a main loop and a subprocedure, and
files have to be global ---up to and including V5R4--- first thing to
check is to make sure you are not re-defining the AID field name inside
the subprocedure.

On Behalf Of Coyle, Stephen F.

Hi All,

I have a display file that displays a subfile list of master
records, on F6 another format displays for the user to add records to
this master file.
The problem occurs after the second format is displayed.
Whatever key is pressed from this format, the AID byte in the INFDS is
blank. Not so for the subfile format however.
The basic flow is a main loop (AID is OK), press F6, main calls
procedure AddRec() (AID is OK), AddRec calls procedure ProcRec() (AID is
blank). Within the ProcRec format do loop, AID is always blank. When
returning to the main loop, AID is again OK.
I tried posting the INFDS after each EXFMT of the display, but
no luck. Is there something I'm missing regarding the INFDS from within
a procedure?

Thanks for any help....
- Steve
