I am guessing that English is not
Srinivas' first language? From the context of the question I
believed he wanted the zeros on the end of his 8/0 field when it is
put in the 10/0 field, hence the mult by 100,

Wouldn't that add two zeros to the right side?
Doesn't prefix mean left side?

Would multiply by 100 work for you?

Srinivas,
Could you explain a little more please? I'm not sure I understand
stripyou are trying to do. You have a screen field that's 8,0 and you saidwith
regardless of whatever is placed into the field you want to prefix it
two zeroes. Is that on the front end or the back end? If a user puts
eight 9's, (i.e.99999999), into the screen field are you going to
10,0out two 9's making the number display as 00999999, or add it into a
sensefield in the rpg as 0099999999?
If it's the latter than like Charles said that wouldn't make any
convertsince the two numbers are identical. If it's the former you can
listto character and put the two leading zeroes in that way.--
alpha8 = '00' + %subst(%char(ScreenField):3); //only takes the last 6
digits
numeric8 = %dec(alpha8:8:0);
