At this point, I begin to get the idea that it would be a lot easier to
write an RPG program. You couldn't soft code it in the manner you're
suggesting, Eric, but I'd think you would want a good business reason to
spend the extra time to soft code it. Not only would it take longer to
write, but the performance would suffer.

This might need to be a SQL stored procedure.... Open a cursor, then loop
for n rows...... I suppose you could accept your SQL statement as parm,
along with the rows value so that you could use this proc for any update
statement....
