Yup, I agree with your comment and I can see why you'd leave the code in
place. The couple of CPU cycles per record is unlikely to affect
performance.

But in general, I try to always document short-circuiting. That's why I
love /free format and the ability to stick an extra comment on the end with
a double-slash (such as "// *INMR implied here").
