The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

I find this somewhat surprising and intriguing. I've never found the need
to create a local subroutine within a subprocedure.
I have. Not nearly as often as Duane has, but it can actually be very
useful at times. I'm not at liberty to share any samples of mine, but I
will say that they're in programs that implement the classic Recursive
Descent Parser algorithm, with a scanner written in C feeding them
tokens, and the local subroutines were for things that might be done in
more than one place within the subprocedure.
