Quick question: do the enhanced 5250 keywords work with emulators other than
Client Access, like TN5250 or Mochasoft? I'm just wondering for my own
edification.

PC5250 (aka Client Access) and aXes are the only client tools I'm aware of with complete support for the enhanced 5250 DDS keywords.

Mochasoft only does stock-standard 5250--none of the enhanced keywords are supported.

I believe some work is underway to support some of the enhanced keywords for the open-source emulators (tn5250 and tn5250j).

I think they're interesting, but really, aren't they a little limited? For
example, unless I'm mistaken, you can't really specify things like different
colors for the choices in a SNGCHCFLD.

See the CHCAVAIL, CHCCTL, CHCSLT, and CHCUNAVAIL keywords. Although you cannot specify different colours for EACH choice in a single list you can certainly control the colours of all choices in a given list.

Simon Coulter.
