Why can't I use a qualified name expression for %trimr?
You can!
How else would you do this?
Use an unqualified structure ... or globally unique names ...
I get RNF7591 An operand of a qualified name expression is not valid.
Here are a few snippets to show what I am doing.
// List objects API.
d/copy qsysinc/qrpglesrc,quslobj
d UsrSpcDat ds likeds(QUSL020002)
d based(UsrSpcDatPtr)
File = %trimr(UsrSpcDat.QUSOLNU) + '/' + %trimr
(UsrSpcDat.QUSOBJNU)
Your basic code construct is acceptable to the compiler as long as
you are on a release that supports QUALIFIED and LIKEDS. I suspect
the error is caused by something else. Take a closer look at the
field names you specify and those actually in the include. The
compiler is generally not wrong.

Simon Coulter.
