Booth,

It sounds like you're wanting to use export/import declarations on your d-spec, but personally I think this is a bad idea. This amounts to undocumented interface between your program and your module. It's this sort of under-the-covers business that results in "tricky" code.

I always pass data between modules using the prototyped parameters defined in the copy member. If you need it in a procedure, then pass it in. If this data is used globally in the module (most or all your procedures need this stuff), then create a global DS in your module and write a procedure to set those values. All internal procedures would reference the global DS for these values.

JMO,
Eric

Subject: Data from an RPGLE program being avaialble in a bound module

Learning can be so humiliating....

What am I missing? I have an RPGLE program that defines and fills some
fields with values. I have an RPGLE Module that is bound with the main
program at compile time. I wish to use those main-program values in
the module. I expected the values to be there, but debug says they are not.

Thanks in advance.
