I get the postings in a digest form ... Not sure that I have deleted the
"extra stuff".

If you were to put this problem in an html page ... Use
£ Unicode symbols:
http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/00a3/index.htm

I have my students attempt a similar problem using the euro symbol.
But, their output is in a webpage. I also have them do this same
exercise with a Python program ...

Have fun!!

subject: Printing English "pound" sign

Hi everyone.
Hopefully this is one of those questions that somebody somewhere is
going
to say
"That's so easy, why don't you know the answer to this"
Anyway, here goes.

I am producing a report that is going to be printed in the UK.
How can I get it to print the British "pond" (or Libra) sign instead of
the
'$'

Thanks in advance

Use the third parameter...

%EDITC(numeric : editcode {: *ASTFILL | *CURSYM | currency-symbol})

%editc(numeric:'J':'?')

Not sure what you'll use, but that what you can do.

Thanks for your response Michael, however that's not what I am looking
for,
I just need to print the pond sign as a column header, but as it is not
on
the US keyboard, I am at a loss.

There's also a system value (QCURSYM) that defines the currency symbol
for the system. So it might be a non-issue, Alan.
