I don't think the system ever let you enter a data structure variable as a
parameter. I always moved it to a new variable right away and then used
that one in the program.

Can I use a field in a DS that is already defined in the PI?

Hi Everyone,

I'm sure this is a simple question but I can't get around this for some
reason.

If I have an incoming field defined in the PI, I thought I could have it
also defined in a DS in order to split it up without doing any %subst.

It's not compiling due to "The Name entry is already defined on a
Definition Specification".

What am I doing wrong?

Tks,
