Hi Joe,
I've been going in circles trying to get the v7 version of EGL from my
business partner. He says he cant find anything on it and is asking me for
an IBM product number.
Can you tell me what I need to tell my BP so that he can find what he needs
for this.
Thanks.
Tim

You mentioned new version of EGL that's not only browser capabilities. I
am
looking at create a new app that is GUI based, but not sure which
direction
to head. I would be interested in seeing what EGL offers.
What will I need to use this? Documentation? Example?
You need EGL 7. If you're currently using the EGL capabilities of version
6, you are entitled to an upgrade to EGL version 7, but only until July
31st. How this particular program works is still a little sketchy, so you
really need to contact your BP. But if you're serious about using EGL and
they can't help, get back to me and I'll see what I can do.
If there is a big bang for buck with EGL, (dave) Do you see a possibl EGL
List?
This is really strategic for IBM. I believe there were over 2700 attendees
at RSDC, a 15% year over year growth. There were even a good smattering of
System i developers. IBM has a huge stake in Rational and EGL. I don't
know if it makes sense to have an EGL-I list yet, but I think it will be
required eventually.
